Global CU receives Spectrum Marketing Award in Public Relations
SPOKANE, WA (June 2, 2015) — Global Credit Union was recognized at the Northwest Credit Union Association Spectrum Marketing Awards on May 7, 2015 in Portland, Oregon. The Spectrum Awards honor excellence in credit union communications and marketing. Categories include Digital Media/E-Marketing, Public Relations, Branding, Print, Broadcast, Website, and Coordinated Campaigns.
Global received a First Place Spectrum Award in Public Relations for their Live Community Billboard Event, featuring local artist, Jessie Pierpoint, painting a live billboard within a span of 8 hours. The live billboard event, located in downtown Spokane, was well attended and created buzz and media attention. The Public Relations Spectrum Award recognizes credit union marketing excellence in public- and media-relations strategies.
Global CU recevied Honorable Mention in the Broadcast Media Category for their Global 2014 TV Campaign featuring local artists Mon Chéri and Wylie Gustafson in television and theatre ads.This category recognizes credit union marketing excellence in purchased advertising, either for a single product or series of products within a credit union’s brand.Global CU also received Honorable Mention in the Community Impact and Outreach category which recognizes the work that credit unions do in the community.
Global Charity Choose engaged the community through social media to nominate a local charity to receive a $1,000 donation. Nominations were accepted the month of November, 2014. A panel narrowed the over 500 submissions to five finalists based on community reach and other criteria.
Voting was then open for the first two weeks of December with Higher Ground Animal Shelter receiving the greatest number of votes and winning the $1,000 donation. The Shelter’s mission is to rescue homeless animals or animals in need, offer a place of refuge to peacefully live out their lives, and share their stories to create opportunities for Humane Education – thus creating a greater rescue culture.
