Global supports Hope House & Transitions Spokane with Mardi Bra Campaign
SPOKANE, WA (April 30, 2020) — Global Credit Union partners with Hope House and Transitions Women’s Hearth to collect feminine hygiene products and undergarments for the women battling homelessness in the Spokane area. Physiology and biology are facts of life – women shouldn’t be punished because of it. So Global has stepped up to help.
Throughout the month of February, Global supported the campaign by providing donation drop-off sites at our eight stateside branches, creating donation opportunities throughout Spokane and northern Idaho. Donations accepted for the drive included feminine hygiene products, bras, underwear and bus passes.
Between their community-driven members and employees, Global collected over ten large boxes, overflowing with numerous products for our sisters in need.
“Global is dedicated to giving back to our community. We were proud to support the Mardi Bras campaign,” said Mary Starkey, COO/Executive Vice President, Global Credit Union. “Homelessness is a pressing issue in our community and women meeting their basic needs can be a tremendous struggle. This is just one small way Global can help our community.”
Following the end date of the product collection period, the donations have since been sorted and distributed to many women in need in the Spokane area.
