Global to provide lunch to employees in support of small businesses

SPOKANE, WA (May 4, 2020) — Even though Small Business Week has been postponed, Global will be purchasing a company-wide lunch for all essential employees. Both in-office and remote employees will receive lunch on Wednesday, May 6, 2020, and Thursday, May 7, 2020. This includes employees housed at all eight stateside branches as well as two out of the three Global overseas branches in Italy. In support of small businesses, Global will be purchasing all meals from locally-owned establishments.

Global will be purchasing lunch from Big Bear Deli in Post Falls, The Local Deli in Coeur d’Alene and Longhorn BBQ in Spokane. For branches in Italy, the branch managers at Global Aviano and Global Vicenza will be ordering from local eateries and delivering to essential employees in the branches.

“Global is dedicated to supporting not only our essential employees every day, but also our locally owned small businesses during these uncertain times,” said Jack Fallis, CEO/President, Global Credit Union. “We are pleased to support our community while showing our appreciation for all the hard work our employees put in day after day.”

Local businesses are vitally important to local economies. According to the Small Businesses Administration, over half of all United States Citizens either own or work for a small business. During this challenging time, Global Credit Union encourages all community members to consider shopping small.
