Golden 1 Credit Union donates $52,500 to California State University Food Pantries

Credit Union supports college students in need on Giving Tuesday

Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) today announced its 12th annual food bank donation of $52,500 is going toward California State University (CSU) food pantry programs in support of Giving Tuesday. The funds will help provide college students access to food and essentials as nearly one in three California college students faces food insecurity, according to the California Student Aid Commission.

“Student hunger is a clear impediment to success in school, and this year Golden 1 is proud to support CSU food pantries and help college students achieve their educational dreams,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations. “We know how hard food banks and programs are working to keep up with the rising cost of groceries and other expenses due to inflation, and Golden 1 is honored to support such a critical lifeline to students in need.”

Since 2011, Golden 1 has donated more than $600,000 to numerous food banks across California that provide essentials to families and individuals in need. Whether through food bank donations, Giving Tuesday, Big Day of Giving, grant and scholarship programs, or helping homeless youth, Golden 1 is committed to investing in organizations making a positive impact in communities across the state. To learn more about Golden 1’s community giving initiatives, visit golden1.com/our-community/our-commitment.
