Golden 1 Credit Union opens applications period for 2021 Community Grant Program
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 3, 2021) —
Golden 1 Credit Union (Golden 1) announced Monday the application period for its annual Community Grant Program is open. Nonprofit organizations that promote literacy or serve transition-aged foster youth in the Sacramento and Central Valley regions are encouraged to apply. The program is part of Golden 1’s commitment to giving back to the diverse communities it serves. Chosen nonprofits will receive up to $50,000 each.
“The pandemic has brought extra burdens to many nonprofits across our state. These organizations play a critical role in the vibrancy of the communities we serve,” said Erica Taylor, Vice President of Communications and Community Relations. “Golden 1 is proud to offer assistance to these nonprofits on an annual basis, and especially now, as these organizations and those they serve are struggling to recover.”
The Golden 1 Community Grant Program supports organizations that address the needs of children and young adults in Sacramento and the Central Valley and help them develop the skills they need to thrive.
Since its inception in 2014, the Golden 1 Community Grant Program has partnered with nonprofits in the Sacramento and Fresno regions, providing more than $3.8 million to support youth literacy and foster youth as they transition to adulthood. Past recipients have utilized funds for literacy mentorship programs, afterschool activities, and employee training.

The application period for proposals closes March 14, 2021. Golden 1 will announce grant awardees on June 30.
