Great Falls resident receives Credit Union Volunteer of the Year Award

HELENA, MT (June 1, 2015) — Mitch Martin, of Great Falls, recently was named the 2015 Mitch Reed Volunteer of the Year by Montana’s Credit Unions.

Martin has been a credit union volunteer for 40 years, first serving on the Montana Air National Guard CU Board, which, after two mergers, is today Russell Country Federal Credit Union. Martin has been a table officer for the entire four decades.

Bernie Neibauer, president and CEO of Russell Country FCU, commended Martin for his long-time commitment to the credit movement, since his involvement stretches (extends?) beyond Montana to include many national committees. He attends chapter meetings, association events, and the annual Governmental Affairs Conference in Wash. D.C. Neibauer said it’s volunteers like Martin who keep momentum in the credit union movement going.

“And while his credit union career is impressive, his service to our country is much more impressive,” Neibauer said. Martin was in the military for 43 years.

The Montana Credit Union Network, based in Helena, exists to promote and enhance a thriving credit union community.
