Greater Nevada Credit Union voted “Best” again

CARSON CITY, NV (October 10, 2014) — Greater Nevada Credit Union (GNCU) has once again been voted “best” in its service areas.

Since 2008, GNCU has participated in and been named a finalist in the Reno/Tahoe Best Places to Work Awards. This May, GNCU earned the distinct honor of being named one of the top three employers in the large business category, which included well-known companies such as Starbucks and Patagonia.

In July, GNCU was voted Best Financial Institution in Carson City’s Nevada Appeal Readers’ Choice Poll for the eighth consecutive year. A month later, GNCU won first place in the “Best Credit Union” category in the Reno News & Review’s “Best of” issue.

Most recently, GNCU was again voted Best Bank/Credit Union in Douglas County’s Record Courier Readers’ Choice Poll.

GNCU’s EVP/Chief Operating Officer, Dean Altus, said: “These ongoing recognitions mean a lot to us at Greater Nevada, because they are a direct result of our dedicated employees. Our staff not only provides the excellent levels of service that inspire community members to vote for us, they are also saying that this is a great place to work. Considering the growth we’ve experienced this year, such as a new branch in Reno, the expansion of our business services and lending programs, and preparing to upgrade our core processing system, being named “best of” tells us we are doing the right things for our members and our employees.

Greater Nevada is headquartered in Carson City and has been helping northern Nevadans with their financial needs since 1949.  The credit union serves 47,000 consumers and small businesses, and has more than $500 million in assets. For more information, visit gncu.org.
