Greater TEXAS FCU Staff Wear Sneakers in Support of the Homeless

Austin, TX – Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) raised $534.50 to support a new non-profit coming to Austin by participating in Sneaker Week on November 15 and 16, 2012.   Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating independence and self-sufficiency within the homeless and other underserved populations by first engaging them in running as a means to build confidence, strength and self-esteem.

After launching in Philadelphia in July 2007, Back on My Feet has expanded to Baltimore, Washington D.C., Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Indianapolis, Atlanta and New York City. Back on My Feet’s 10th chapter will launch on January 28, 2013 in Austin! The organization has grown to a staff of 40+ professionals with thousands of volunteers and hundreds of Members.  See website below for additional information about this organization.

November 12-16, was National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. In 2011, more than 300 companies and offices participated in Sneaker Week and GTFCU was excited to be a part of the participating companies for 2012!!
