Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union hosts free shred day in San Antonio, Texas

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 8, 2014) – Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) hosted a free Shred Day event in San Antonio, Texas at the Texas Transportation Branch on Saturday, April 5, 2014.

This was the first time to offer this service in San Antonio and the whole community was encouraged to come out and shred their personal and confidential documents for free, including bank statements, invoices, contracts and tax returns.

Over 150 carloads of people attended and over 11,000 pounds of paper were shredded and recycled by Cintas on-site. Many attendees appreciated the ability to see their documents shredded in front of them and said they felt better about participating in the event because of that.

Attendees were given free give-a-way items and the first 10 members received a special gift. The lobby was even open special hours to accommodate members and CO-OP Shared Branch transactions.

Greater TEXAS Federal Credit Union currently has 17 branches across the state of Texas and is known as Aggieland Credit Union in the Brazos Valley.
