FARMINGTON HILLS, MI (October 27, 2020) — GreenPath Financial Wellness, a national nonprofit that provides financial counseling and debt management services, and its affiliate Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF), recently launched the 995hope.org website which provides information to help renters and homeowners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic manage through financial challenges.
It is estimated there are nearly 3 million U.S. households in forbearance due to the COVID crisis.1 The easy-to-use website is a good first step for people to begin a conversation with Housing and Urban Development (HUD)-certified counselors about their housing needs. Homeowners, renters and others facing financial challenges can navigate through information about rental counseling, how to identify foreclosure prevention scams, prepare for home buying, obtain reverse mortgage assistance, manage the homeownership lifecycle and receive other key information designed to increase financial wellness.
