Greg Michlig named CUNA Deputy Chief Engagement Officer

WASHINGTON, DC (November 16, 2015) — New Jersey Credit Union League (NJCUL) President/CEO Greg Michlig has been named Deputy Chief Engagement Officer of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). He will join the association’s staff soon.

“I am excited to have someone of Greg’s extraordinary talent and ability join our CUNA team to oversee the development and growth CUNA’s membership strategy. This work is important as we grow and change to meet the needs of our current and future members,” said CUNA President and CEO Jim Nussle.

Linda McFadden, chairman of the New Jersey Credit Union League said, “The league is saddened to lose Greg. The programs and cost savings measures he implemented will continue for years to come. We wish him well and look forward to seeing his continued efforts in the credit union industry.”

CUNA’s Chief Engagement Officer Susan Newton said that Michlig will lead a variety of critical credit union affiliation and membership issues. “Greg will play a key leadership role in engaging credit union system business partners and other organizations to enlist their involvement and support in CUNA’s mission and the credit union system vision,” said Newton.

Michlig’s experience on the frontlines of CUNA/League issues leading NJCUL and his work in the credit union movement overall will add great depth to CUNA’s senior team.

Michlig has been with the NJCUL since 2013. He has a strong background in the credit union, association and financial services industries. Prior to joining NJCUL, Michlig was Senior Director of Member Relations at the Credit Union Executives Society. From 1999 to 2008, he worked for Pemco Technology Services as a senior account executive, following an earlier stint at CUES in supplier relations. Michlig is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse. He and his wife, Stacy, have three children.
