Greylock Board elects slate of officers & appoints new director

PITTSFIELD, MA (April 8, 2015) — As part of its Annual Meeting proceedings March 24, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield, Greylock Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors elected the following slate of officers: Gerard Burke, Chairman of the Board; Ann Deely, Vice Chairman; Stanley Walczyk, Secretary/Financial Officer;  and JamieEllen Moncecchi, Assistant Secretary.

Chairman of the Board Gerard Burke announced that there were four openings on the Board and introduced the slate as put forth by Greylock’s Board Nominating Committee and recognized the following: Angelo Borsello, Retiree from General Dynamics; Robert Coco, Chief Financial Officer for Guardian Life Insurance Company’s Individual Disability Business (Berkshire Life); John Law, Chief Financial Officer at Berkshire Community College; J. Paul Dube, Retiree from GE.

John Law is the newest member of the Credit Union’s volunteer Board of Directors. He replaces outgoing director Fred Shogry who retired after serving 19 years on the board.

Burke said, “We are pleased to have John’s 30-plus years of banking and financial experience as well as the leadership skills that he brings to the Board. Greylock and our members will benefit greatly from his talents and unique perspective.”

Since 2012, Law has been the Chief Financial Officer for Berkshire Community College. From 1999 through 2012, he held various positions at MountainOne Financial Partners, including President & CEO of Williamstown Savings Bank. Previously, he served in various executive positions at ALBANK Financial Corporation, KeyCorp, and Fleet Financial Group. Law earned an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. He was a Legislative Correspondent for Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. in Washington, D.C. after graduating cum laude with a B.A. from Williams College.

Law was President of Northern Berkshire Community Coalition and Northern Berkshire United Way. He also served as Director of Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, Northern Berkshire YMCA, Higher Ground, American Red Cross of Northeastern New York, and Capital Chamber Artists. He was elected a Corporator of Northern Berkshire Healthcare, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts Foundation, and MountainOne Financial Partners. He lives in Niskayuna, NY.
