Grow Financial grows the greater good with “Grow Your Own Salsa” campaign

Credit Union to Distribute Free Seed Packets on October 22

TAMPA, FL, (October 20, 2014) — Grow Financial, one of the leading Credit Unions in the nation, announces a Growing the Greater Good campaign in collaboration with the Tampa Bay Times titled “Grow Your Own Salsa”.

On Wednesday, October 22, Grow Financial will be handing out seed packets consisting of cilantro, tomato, and jalapeno along with a re-sealable container to anyone who visits any of the Tampa Bay area’s 21 stores. The seed packets will be limited to five per household, and they come with instructions on how to plant and grow the vegetables.  No purchase is necessary to obtain the seed packets, but supplies are limited.

Grow Financial and the Tampa Bay Times are encouraging the community to plant the seeds to promote the aspect of growing your own food locally, as well as healthy eating!

“One of our guiding principles as an organization is to Grow the Greater Good.  We look for opportunities to be socially responsible and give back to the communities we live and work in so this type of campaign is the perfect tie in for our Credit Union,” said Bob Fisher, President and CEO.

In addition to giving out the seed packets, there will be a tabloid called “Growing the Greater Good” that will be a special edition in the Tampa Bay Times newspaper in which the Credit Union will be featured in.  The tabloid is focused on green initiatives and what local companies in the community have done to give back and take on an eco-friendly approach, with a special emphasis on Grow Financial’s green initiatives and company culture.
