Grow Financial President and CEO, Robert Fisher, wins NAFCU Board Seat

TAMPA, FL (May 12, 2015) — The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) announced that Robert Fisher, president and CEO of Grow Financial, one of the leading credit unions in the nation has secured an at-large seat on the association’s Board of Directors in voting.  His term will begin after the Annual Business Meeting on June 23, 2015. Fisher has been elected to a three-year term.

Grow Financial is based in a state that was hit hard during the recession and is home to some of the largest credit unions in the nation.  Fisher’s 25 years of experience will uniquely position him to provide continued input on our economic recovery and regulatory challenges.

“Primarily representing federally chartered credit unions, NAFCU has been a premier provider of regulatory advocacy and compliance education,” said Fisher.  “With increased regulation and government oversight, NAFCU’s role as a representative of the credit union industry and our members is now more important than ever.”

“Interest in NAFCU’s board continues to grow each election cycle and we thank all of the candidates for serving their association and our industry,” said Ed Templeton, NAFCU chair and president and CEO of SRP Federal Credit Union. “NAFCU’s continued focus on being the best in advocacy, education and compliance clearly resonates with credit unions.”

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions is the only national trade association that exclusively represents the interests of federally chartered credit unions before the federal government and the public.
