Grow Financial sponsors third annual Mayor’s River O’Green celebration

TAMPA, FL, (March 3, 2014) Grow Financial, in partnership with The City of Tampa, will dye the Hillsborough River “Grow Financial” green for the third annual Mayor’s River O’Green celebration.  Mayor Bob Buckhorn will host River O’Green in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day on Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park.

The Hillsborough River will be dyed green between the Cass Street Bridge and Kennedy Bridge in a matter of around ten minutes. The dye is potable water grade, non-toxic, and biodegradable, and is used primarily to trace leaks, and for search and rescue efforts in large bodies of water.

In addition to the festive green Hillsborough River, entertainment, food trucks and activities will also be at the event.  Entertainment and activities are free and open to the public.  Irish entertainment on the Krewe of Shamrock stage will feature Irish band Lucid Druids, Tampa Gymnastic and Dance Show Stars, and the Scariff Hardiman School of Irish Dance. A complete list of confirmed vendors and entertainment is available by clicking here.

This year, Grow Financial team members will be on hand with new, fun activities including a customized photo booth where guests can take photos to share on their personal social media sites and have e-mailed to them, as well as free #moreinreturn t-shirts to coincide with Grow Financial’s new World of More marketing campaign.  The t-shirts (which are limited) are customizable so attendees can write what they want more of on the shirt and then wear it when they have their picture taken in the photo booth.  All of the photos will be posted on the Grow Financial Facebook page.  These shirts are similar to the www.moreinreturn.com website where the Credit Union is asking people, what do you want more of, and then it is displayed on the Grow Financial Facebook page for More Moments to be delivered weekly.

Attendees can find the Grow Financial tent by looking for the green branded tower that will stretch more than 30 feet high in the air.  The tent will be located beside the tower.

In addition, any attendee who brings three non-perishable food items to the event will receive a green “Saint Patrick’s Army” shirt provided by the Salvation Army. All donations will benefit the Salvation Army and provide support for those in need.
