Hanscom FCU wins national marketing award for member-focused video

HANSCOM AFB, MA (July 7, 2022) — Hanscom Federal Credit Union has been recognized by the Marketing Association of Credit Unions with a bronze MAC Award for the production of a non-commercial video that focuses on the story of one of its veteran-owned business members, American Bench Craft.

The six-minute video tells the story of two brothers, Chris and Jason Angelini of Reading, Mass., who spotted an opportunity in 2013 to create and market unique leather products. They have grown from making wallets within their parents’ unheated garage to offering a host of leather products they make by hand in a light-filled warehouse-sized space in Wilmington, Mass.

The Angelini family, who’ve been Hanscom FCU members for years, has a close working relationship with the credit union’s Commercial Real Estate department, headed by Phil Purcell, Senior Vice President. Today, American Bench Craft has expanded from wallets and offers dozens of leather products to customers around the globe thanks, in part, to the credit union’s support in scaling up the business.

The video was shot and edited in August 2021 by Mt. Mansfield Media based out of Colchester, Vt. Besides the Angelini brothers and their friends and family, the video includes interviews with Michelle Sapienza, Hanscom FCU’s Assistant Vice President, Commercial Real Estate, who has worked closely with Chris and Jason as their business has expanded.
