Hanscom FCU’s Lending Office Announces Two Executive Promotions

HANSCOM AFB, MA (July 25, 2022) — Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s Lending Office recently announced the promotions of two senior executives who are focused on delivering an improved member experience and building on the credit union’s reputation as an innovative, member-centric lender.

Sue Dunbar was promoted to Senior Vice President, Residential Lending. She joined Hanscom FCU in 2016 as Vice President, Mortgage Lending, managing mortgage sales, processing, and servicing. Effective August 1, Dunbar will begin overseeing Hanscom FCU’s 11-person home equity lending team, bringing a total of 34 employees under her purview.

Prior to joining Hanscom FCU, Dunbar worked for several credit unions in the Boston area. She has amassed considerable knowledge of the mortgage lending industry, and the expertise she brings to her new role will be key in advancing Hanscom FCU’s overall strategic plan.

Dan Picard, who was named Senior Vice President, Consumer Lending & Collections, joined Hanscom FCU in 2019 as a vice president.  He oversaw lending areas including home equity, direct and indirect lending, student loans, and collections. In his new role, Picard, who has held senior-level positions in the credit union industry for 25 years, will develop and lead the strategic and operational plans for direct and indirect lending to support the credit union’s overarching strategic plan.

Picard holds a B.S.B.A. from Suffolk University’s Sawyer Business School in Boston.

Dunbar and Picard will continue reporting to Tom Becker, Hanscom FCU’s Chief Lending Officer. “I’m confident with Sue and Dan in their new roles with this refined organizational structure in place means even greater successes are in store for them and our entire organization,” said Becker.   “We’ll continue to deliver an exceptional member experience with these two consummate professionals I’ve been proud to have on my team, who’ll be the guiding hands behind their own respective teams in making the lending process even more seamless and accessible – whether our member is a new homebuyer getting their first mortgage, or it’s a longtime member who’s financing their third or fourth car purchase.”
