Hawaii Credit Union League Board of Directors announced

New Board offers balanced representation for credit unions on Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii

HONOLULU, HI (May 5, 2022) — The 2022 Hawaii Credit Union League (HCUL) Annual Convention brought together credit union leaders for the first in-person event since 2019. This year’s convention was held April 28-30, 2022, at the Hyatt Maui Resort and Spa.

HCUL introduced its Board of Directors during the 84th Business Meeting on April 29. Each Board member brings a wealth of credit union experience as leaders representing different islands and asset sizes with some serving on the Hawaii Credit Union League Board for the first time*.

The 2022-2023 HCUL Board of Directors are:

• Chair Norman Okimoto (Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union, Oahu)*
• Vice Chair Tess Shimabukuro (Gather Federal Credit Union, Kauai)
• Secretary Scott Kaulukukui (Hickam Federal Credit Union, Oahu)*
• Treasurer Alan Arai (Valley Isle Community Federal Credit Union)
• Director Nicole Aguinaldo (Big Island Federal Credit Union, Hawaii)*
• Director Timothy Ashcraft (Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union, Hawaii)
• Director Guy Muraoka (Kahului Federal Credit Union, Maui)*

The 2022 Annual Convention theme—Emerge, Engage, Empower—set the tone for the post-pandemic future of Hawaii’s credit unions. As credit unions emerge from the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, many developed new ways of engaging members that empowered them to rise above financial difficulties.
