Heritage Federal Credit Union’s Ruth Jenkins inducted into Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 12, 2014)Ruth Jenkins, CCE, CUREME, who is President/CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union in Newburgh, was inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame during the Indiana Credit Union League’s statewide Convention. She was honored at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet at the JW Marriott Hotel on October 17.

A 33-year veteran of the credit union industry, she has held leadership roles at credit unions large and small across the United States. At Heritage FCU, under her leadership, the credit union has received awards and recognition for Return to Member, used vehicle financing, community service and numerous marketing initiatives, in addition to “Readers Choice” awards from tri-state publications. Jenkins and the credit union have been featured in Callahan & Associates’ “Anatomy of a Credit Union” series. Her impact extends throughout the credit union’s market area as she is frequently sought out by local news media for her industry experience and appears regularly on Evansville TV to talk about consumer finance issues.

She serves Indiana credit unions through her work as a board member of the Indiana Credit Union Foundation, and she is a member of the League’s Governmental Affairs Committee and the Convention Committee. Well-known to many not-for-profits in the Evansville area, Ruth has positioned the credit union as a top corporate citizen and serves on the board of the Women’s Fund of Warrick County, the Salvation Army Advisory Board and St. Mary’s Health System Foundation Board.
