Hiway Credit Union Roseville Branch wins design honor

ST. PAUL, MN (December 15, 2021) — Hiway Credit Union’s Roseville branch was recently awarded Outstanding Branch Design award at the Future Branches conference held December 6-7, in Austin, TX.

Future Branches, a conference that draws a national following, gets credit union and bank leaders from institutions large and small together to explore how financial institutions capitalize on their physical spaces by revamping in-store technology, energizing front-line associates and reimagining traditional branch processes to meet the ever-changing demands of members and customers.

“It’s such an honor that our work in Roseville has received recognition from our industry peers,” said Hiway Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Tara Graff, who led the branch design and build project for the St. Paul-based institution. “So many people left their fingerprints on this project – both from Hiway and our design and construction partners. It’s such an honor to see all this hard work recognized nationally.”

The branch, which opened in the spring of 2021, offers innovative features and perks for members, including a full-service Dunkin’ to satisfy any sweet tooth or coffee craving. The new technology enables members to complete basic transactions via associate-supported ITMs, and a team of universal service representatives, as well as a mortgage advisor, are on-site to assist with more complex needs. In addition, Hiway prioritized including safety and sustainability features in the new branch, including a powerful rooftop solar array, touch less bathroom fixtures, AtmosAir ionization technology, and free-to-all EV chargers.

The Hiway team chose Eden Prairie-based HTG Architects as their design partner, and Roseville-based Carlson-LaVine as the general contractor. Both firms are also working with Hiway on the credit union’s Woodbury branch, slated to open in mid-2022.

Only banks and credit unions are eligible for nominations. Hiway was one of three credit unions to earn honors at the December conference.  Hiway Credit Union (Outstanding Branch Design), Hawaii State Federal Credit Union (Most Effective Branch Technology Implementation) and Teachers Federal Credit Union (Best Approach to Customer Financial Literacy & Education) were this year’s award recipients.

The finalists were selected by a panel of independent judges selected by the Future Branches team, and the winners in each category were selected by attendees at the Austin conference.
