Honor Credit Union proud to support Lakeshore Excellence Foundation

ST. JOSEPH, MI (April 3, 2014) – Honor Credit Union is proud to continue its support of local community schools through a donation to the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation (LEF).  Honor has made a three year commitment to the LEF in the form of a monetary donation to assist in the group’s funding of student programs and development within Lakeshore Public Schools.

Founded in 1997, the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation is a volunteer based organization that promotes student development, community learning, and school and community partnerships.  A variety of programs within Lakeshore Public Schools benefit from the LEF’s support, including academics, arts, and technology.  A program that students will get to participate in this June is the Lakeshore band trip to Normandy, France to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day.  The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation was an integral part in making this opportunity available to every single member of Lakeshore’s band.  Donations, such as Honor’s three year commitment, make it possible for the LEF to continue supporting activites that reinforce the importance of student development.

“Contributing to the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation is such a great opportunity,” comments Honor’s Stevensville branch manager Tanya Urias.  “The LEF really benefits students with a variety of interests and activites and Honor is proud to be a part of that.”

Honor Credit Union is proud to serve more than 41,000 members over fourteen counties in Michigan.  Providing solutions for financial success and giving back to the communities they serve remain the driving forces behind Honor Credit Union.  For more information call 800.442.2800, or visit www.honorcu.com.
