Honor Credit Union’s Northern Market to host annual member appreciation picnic

NEGAUNEE, MI (June 22, 2015) — Celebrating a positive and successful first year in the Upper Peninsula, Honor Credit Union’s Northern Market is excited to announce the date of their annual Member Appreciation Picnic.

The picnic will take place on Friday, July 24th, 2015 from 11:00a.m. until 3:00p.m. at Honor Credit Union’s Negaunee, Marquette, and Gwinn branches. Hotdogs, brats, chips and pop will be served, with cake for dessert. The picnic is free of charge, and is Honor Credit Union’s way of saying thanks to our valued members in the communities we serve.

Honor Credit Union has good cause for celebration from all sides. Focusing on providing exceptional member service, ten local individuals have already been hired for both branch and operational positions, including the creation of nine new postions within the Northern Market to support the growing credit union. Expanding on our member promise to provide solutiosn for financial success, Honor Credit Union’s members living in the Upper Peninsula have additional access to their money that extend beyond the normal branch hours. This includes access to Honor Credit Union’s Member Solutions Center, a new and improved mobile app, and mobile deposit capture.

Honor Credit Union is passionate about reinvesting in the local communities they serve. In the past year, Ishpeming High School’s Broadcasting class was the winner of the the 2015 Video Challenge and received a grand prize of $3,000, ten local teachers in Negaunee, Gwinn, and Marquette were winners of the 5th Annual Honor CU Awards to assist them with providing additional resources to their students, and the Forsyth Township Library received a $5,000 grant from Honor Credit Union’s community fund, Powered By Honor, to support their building project. In addition to monetary support, the Honor Team has contributed over 500 volunteer hours at local U.P. events alone. Honor Credit Union has supported a number of events in our local communities, including the U.P. 200, the YMCA of Marquette County, and U.P Pink Power. In the near future, Honor Credit Union is looking forward to volunteering at the Marquette County Fair and Bluesfest. As the year continues, the members and the communities Honor Credit Union serves can look forward to even more involvement.
