Inclusiv expands green and clean energy lending course offerings in the U.S. and Caribbean

New York, NY (February 3, 2025) |

Inclusiv is proud to announce the expansion of its clean energy training courses and workshops, both within the U.S. and for the first time, to credit unions across the broader Caribbean. In partnership with the Caribbean Conferderation of Credit Unions (CCCU), Inclusiv will launch a free green lending training course starting in mid-February for credit unions throughout the region.

The Caribbean Green Lending Training Course is Inclusiv’s first program outside the U.S. and its territories, representing a major milestone in expanding climate-focused financial solutions across one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable and high-energy cost regions. The multi-week virtual training series will equip credit unions with the tools to finance decarbonization initiatives and drive climate resilience. Modeled after Inclusiv’s successful U.S. programs, the training will provide technical expertise, peer networking, and tailored guidance to support impactful green projects. The program will roll out in three cohorts throughout 2025.

"Through this collaboration, we aim to address the region’s unique challenges and help credit unions become leaders in the fight against climate change," said Denise Garfield, General Manager of CCCU. "These trainings are a critical step toward unlocking green financing and creating sustainable and equitable opportunities for Caribbean communities."

In addition, Inclusiv and the Center for Impact Finance (CIF) at the University of New Hampshire will launch a resilient solar and storage training for building owners and managers. The Inclusiv Resilient Solar + Storage training is a self-paced course for building owners seeking to ensure a resilient, reliable, and renewable supply of electricity for their building. It focuses on providing resilient solar to community-serving facilities (such as schools, health centers, etc.), but owners of other building types will also derive learning benefits. The course is free and open to all on a rolling basis. It is available in both English and Spanish.

“Building on the expertise of multiple organizations that support nonprofits and community-serving facilities to go solar, this course provides essential information to address some of the most commonly asked questions about solar and storage technologies,” says Seth Mullendore, President and Executive Director of Clean Energy Group, which contributed content for the training. “It serves as a starting point for building managers, community-based organizations, and lenders to begin exploring solar and battery storage solutions, whether they are prioritizing the need to keep critical services up and running during a power outage or reduce energy costs.”

“These initiatives recognize that equitable access to clean energy is essential for building stronger, more sustainable communities,” says Jesse Gerstin, VP Center for Resiliency and Clean Energy at Inclusiv. “These programs build on Inclusiv’s ongoing commitment to empower communities with affordable and more resilient solutions to climate change, and through these partnerships we are able to expand our reach and deepen our impact.”
