Indiana Members Foundation Canvas for a Cause raises over $700 for local high school marching band

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (November 14, 2014) — Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, recently donated $716.80 to the Whiteland Community High School Band Department, located in Whiteland, Indiana, through its Canvas for a Cause fundraiser. Indiana Members Foundation hosted the event at Whiteland Community High School on Wednesday evening, October 1st. The funds raised will help purchase new marching band uniforms. Local artist, James Martin, led the event helping participants create their own work of art.

The Indiana Members Foundation Canvas for a Cause raises money for schools and non-profits that serve youth in the community. IMCU employees or community members can host a Canvas for a Cause event at a venue of their choice.

“Canvas for a Cause is a great way for Indiana Members to partner with local non-profits and schools in our communities to raise funds to help children succeed. Whether the funds are for books, new uniforms, music equipment or whatever else is needed, Canvas for a Cause is a fun way to raise money in a short time,” stated Mandy Emery, vice president of community involvement at Indiana Members Credit Union and executive director of Indiana Members Foundation.

Peter Sampson, director of bands at Whiteland Community High School, commented, “We are so thrilled to have teamed up with Indiana Members Credit Union for a fundraising event. I personally love that this event both helped our organization raise money towards the purchase of new marching band uniforms, but also promotes the arts and creativity at the same time.”

Indiana Members Foundation will host another Canvas for a Cause event, benefitting the Whiteland Community High School Band Department, on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Whiteland Community High School. To register for the event or for more information please visit www.imf4kids.org.
