Indiana Members Foundation provides over 500 school uniforms to local school

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (September 26, 2014) — Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) hosted a uniform distribution event and provided more than 500 new school uniforms to the students at Riverside School 44, 2033 Sugar Grove Avenue, Indianapolis, during its Back to School night on Friday, August 1, 2014.  Indiana Members Foundation, the charitable arm of Indiana Members Credit Union, ensured every student in attendance received a new uniform (three shirts and a pair of pants), as well as new socks and shoes.  Over 35 IMCU employees volunteered their time on Friday to disburse the uniforms and shoes to the students.  Additionally, students also had the opportunity to meet Indiana Pacer, George Hill, and Pacer Mascot, Boomer, at the exciting event.

IMCU has been a community partner of Riverside School 44 for the past four years and raises money through the Indiana Members Foundation to support the students and families that attend the school.  Enough money was raised through donations from employees, members and vendors to supply the students with new uniforms and shoes.  “Indiana Members Foundation is proud to continue our partnership with Riverside School 44 and celebrate the start of school by providing uniforms, shoes and other essential tools to the Riverside students, helping to prepare them for a successful year.  It is our hope that our support will aid the children to thrive in their studies.  I am continually thankful for the assistance received from Indiana Members Credit Union members, employees and volunteers who help us with this effort,” stated Mandy Emery, VP community involvement for IMCU.

The Indiana Members Foundation was founded in 2010 by Indiana Members Credit Union employees and volunteers for the purpose of being a positive influence in the community, specifically providing school children in the Indianapolis area with the necessary essentials for learning and succeeding in their education.
