INOVA CEO elected to Indiana Credit Union League Board

ELKHART, IN (October 22, 2013) — INOVA Federal Credit Union President and CEO, Dallas Bergl, was elected to a three year term on the Indiana Credit Union League Board of Directors.  He began his term at the reorganization meeting held during the League’s annual meeting and convention on September 27.

Dallas has worked in the credit union industry for over two decades, holding positions from Collections Manager to CEO.  He has served in the CEO capacity for nineteen years, currently as the President and Chief Executive Officer of INOVA FCU in Elkhart, Indiana.  He has demonstrated a firm grasp of finance, policy development; corporate, industry and civic leadership as well as political acumen.

In addition to his duties at INOVA FCU and on the Indiana Credit Union League Board of Directors, Dallas serves on the Credit Union Centers (CUC) shared branching Board of Directors, the Indiana Credit Union Leagues Legislative Affairs Committee, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions Governmental Affairs Committee, Credit Union National Association’s World Leadership Development Committee, the Governing Board for the city of Elkhart’s Lerner Theater and ensures that his credit union supports the World Council of Credit Unions efforts.

Dallas is often invited to share his experiences and knowledge at both State and National conferences, including speaking for CUNA, CUES, NAFCU, several state leagues and others.  He has been awarded the Key to the City of Elkhart, received NAFCU’s Paul Revere Award for Grassroots Activism, the Indiana Credit Union League’s Professional Achievement Award and several other citations for community service.

The Indiana Credit Union League (ICUL) is a not-for-profit trade association representing Indiana credit unions.  The ICUL Services Corporation (Servicecorp,) the League’s wholly owned subsidiary, is a credit union-owned cooperative organization that networks the collective business volume of credit unions to offer affordable products and services.

Joining Mr. Bergl as a new director is Karla Salisbury, President/CEO of KEMBA CU in Indianapolis.  Also serving on the board are: Dave Fleming (Chairman,) Union Baptist Church FCU, Fort Wayne; Doug True (Vice Chairman,) FORUM CU, Fishers; Matt Lambert (Board Secretary,) Encompass FCU, Tipton; Chuck Donovan (Treasurer,) Members Source CU, Merrillville; Lori Gonzalez, Members Choice FCU, Bloomington; Frank Gulley, Afena FCU, Marion; and George McNichols, Hoosier Hills CU, Bedford.
