International Credit Union Day

TEXAS CITY, TX (October 21, 2014) ─ On Thursday, October 16, Galveston County’s chapter of credit unions, Credit Union Sense, united together to celebrate International Credit Union Day at their respective branches, and later convened for their third annual Political Meet and Greet.

International Credit Union Day, is a day dedicated to spread the word about the many benefits of using credit unions compared to banks. For International Credit Union day, Credit Union Sense welcomed loyal and potential members with goodies that included: cookies, lemonade and candy.  In addition, Credit Union Sense offered “$5 on us” and “Free Copy of Credit Report” coupons to new and potential members.

Following the day’s celebration, the third annual Political Meet and Greet took place at La Brisa Mexican Restaurant, which provided hors d’oeuvres to participants.  All of the local credit unions in Galveston County were able to meet and greet their city’s officials.  Keeping a presence in the community is crucial, which is why it is important to engage and retain a relationship with the city officials.  Credit Union Sense also sponsored a silent auction for the Credit Union Sense chapter.
