Intouch Credit Union invites kids to meet Frisco Roughriders players at their branches

Free Batter Up For Banking financial literacy program features possible future superstar players

PLANO, TEXAS (May 12, 2015) — InTouch Credit Union is heading into extra innings, gearing up to host five of their ever-popular Batter Up for Banking events, to be held at local North Texas ITCU branches throughout baseball season. This unique youth financial literacy program, entering its third season this year, offers the opportunity for kids to meet and greet with Frisco RoughRiders players, while learning basic money management skills at the same time. The Credit Union first launched this exciting educational program in 2013 due in part to the overwhelming success of their Bank to Achieve financial literacy program that features visits from players on the Dallas Maverick’s D-League affiliate, the Texas Legends. 

The RoughRiders, a Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are now playing their 13th season of baseball at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. The ‘Riders have consistently held the record for the highest attendance of any team in the minors for the past decade; ITCU is proud to have been a corporate partner of the team since 2009.

The come and go Batter Up for Banking events will occur on select Saturday mornings at ITCU branches in Little Elm, Frisco, McKinney and Plano. Each event will feature appearances by ‘Riders players and team mascots (as scheduling permits), available for photos or autographs. Children’s financial workbooks and coloring sheets will be provided to all attendees. Prize giveaways, including the chance to win tickets to an upcoming RoughRiders game, also occur at each event. Refreshments will be available and all activities are provided free of charge. ITCU and the Frisco RoughRiders invite the public to join them on the following Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. for these fun family events:

  • May 16 at the ITCU Little Elm Branch at 2785 E. Eldorado Pkwy, Ste 100, Little Elm, TX 75068
  • May 30 at the ITCU Warren Branch at 9151 Warren Parkway, Frisco, TX 75034
  • July 18 at the ITCU World Cup Branch at 5858 Main St, Ste 101, Frisco, TX 75033
  • July 25 at the ITCU McKinney Branch at 6375 Eldorado Parkway, McKinney, TX 75070
  • August 8 at the ITCU McDermott Branch at 2201 McDermott Road, Plano, TX 75025
