Island celebrates Grand Opening of Massapequa location with “Money Ribbon” donation
HAUPPAUGE, NY (December 4, 2013) — Island Federal Credit Union (Island), headquartered in Hauppauge, opened its newest branch in Massapequa in October. Located at 824 Hicksville Road, it is Island’s seventh branch and the second new location to open within the past six months.
The Grand Opening Celebration, held on October 23, was attended by local business leaders, members of the North Massapequa Fire Department, Island Board members, management and employees. The highlight of the event was the cutting of a $1,000 “Money Ribbon,” representing Island’s donation to the North Massapequa Fire Department’s community outreach program.
“All of us at Island are very excited about the opening of the Massapequa branch,” commented Island VP/COO Paul Young. “We have already developed relationships with organizations in the local community including the North Massapequa Fire Department and the Massapequa Chamber of Commerce.
