Jersey fundraiser proceeds, donations & additional contribution presented to A.S.K.

BATTLE CREEK, MI (August 15, 2025) |

The force was strong at MCCU Field as the Battle Creek Battle Jacks and Marshall Community Credit Union (MCCU) teamed up to support All Species Kinship (A.S.K.) through their annual specialty jersey fundraiser.

Worn during Star Wars Night on Saturday, July 12, the limited-edition R2-D2-inspired jerseys captured fans’ attention – and their generosity. Thanks to an outpouring of support from the community, the jersey auction raised a total of $1,200 with 100% of proceeds going directly to support A.S.K., an organization that rescues and rehabilitates animals of all species and education outreach.

“This fundraiser is all about celebrating community and compassion,” said Laura Van Dyke, Community & Youth Engagement Manager, MCCU. “We’re thrilled to not only raise funds, but to also raise awareness and support A.S.K.’s incredible mission.”

In addition to the funds raised, MCCU branch locations collected dozens of in-kind donations to help the A.S.K. team in their day-to-day operations. Items included pet food, durable toys, paper towels, and other essentials that will go directly toward helping animals in need.

“The response from our fans and the community was phenomenal,” said Brody Conaty, Battle Jacks General Manager. “It’s inspiring to see how a jersey can serve as a platform to rally support and create lasting impact. We’re proud to continue this tradition with MCCU and look forward to growing it in the years ahead.”

“A.S.K. works tirelessly to help animals in difficult situations and  provide the support for a second chance,” adds Van Dyke. “Just this week, A.S.K made headlines saving a puppy and we instantly felt compelled to do more.” The total donation to A.S.K amounted to $2,300.

Since 2022, the MCCU and Battle Jacks jersey partnership has raised a combined $6,500 for local nonprofits throughout Calhoun County.
