Kenyon assumes role of AACUL chairman

WASHINGTON, DC (December 17, 2014) --  Tracie Kenyon has assumed the role of Chairman of the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL).  Kenyon takes over from Wendell Lyons, who stepped down from the post Monday.

Kenyon is in her 13th year as CEO of the Montana Credit Union Network and was most recently AACUL’s First Vice Chairman.  Tracie has served on the AACUL Board since 2010 and has previously served as the organization’s Secretary, Treasurer and Second Vice Chairman.  In her role as AACUL’s First Vice Chairman, she simultaneously served as Chair of CULAC during its record-setting 2014 election cycle where CULAC raised more than $4 million, and won more than 90% of the races in which the organization contributed.

With Keyon’s transition to AACUL Chair, other members of the Board will move up one spot, which includes:

  • First vice chairman Mark Cummins, CEO, Minnesota Credit Union Network;
  • Second vice chairman,  Scott Simpson, Utah’s Credit Unions;
  • Treasurer, Diana Dykstra, CEO, California & Nevada Credit Union Leagues;
  • Secretary: will be filled by an appointment;
  • Immediate past chair Bill Mellin; and
  • Susan Newton, AACUL Executive Director.

“On behalf of the entire Board, I want share my appreciation for the leadership that Wendell has provided over the past year, and we are pleased that he will continue to be an active member of AACUL”, stated Kenyon.  She added, “I am honored to accept the role as Chair of AACUL and look forward to working with all of our member Leagues, CUNA CEO Jim Nussle and CUNA Mutual CEO Bob Trunzo, along with the leaders of the entire credit union system.”
