Kitsap Credit Union has hired West Seattle resident Paula Chan Edelstein as its new SVP/Chief People Officer.
As a member of the Kitsap Credit Union leadership team and reporting to CEO Shawn Gilfedder, Paula will be responsible for aligning the credit union’s people practices with their business strategies, mission, and values.
“At Kitsap Credit Union, culture and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging are at the top of our priorities,” said Shawn Gilfedder, CEO and President of Kitsap Credit Union. “Paula is an excellent addition to our culture and the leadership team, and we are excited to have her lead several strategic initiatives.”
“The thing that attracted me the most about Kitsap Credit Union was its impact on the community,” said Paula Chan Edelstein, CPO Kitsap Credit Union. “A personal goal of mine is to create positive social change. The purpose and mission of Kitsap Credit Union are very much in alignment with my own values and vision.”
In her role, Paula will develop and lead people operations to deliver strategic programs, policies, and practices that promote a high-performing, values-driven culture at Kitsap Credit Union.

Paula holds a Master of Labor Relations and Human Resources degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Michigan State University. She brings over 20 years of human resources experience. Paula is active in the community, having worked with local and national organizations committed to social justice, homelessness, and health equity.
