LAFCU supporting LA fire recovery efforts through Emergency Network Los Angeles (ENLA)

Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) will support ongoing LA fire recovery efforts from 2/1/25 to 2/28/25 by fundraising then donating 100% to the Emergency Network Los Angeles (ENLA) (https://enla.org). ENLA is a charity that provides assistance to individuals, communities, and organizations following emergencies and disasters and is currently directly involved in helping those impacted by the LA Wildfires. ENLA is a collaboration of over 50 local, state, and national non-profits and government agencies who provide crucial resources and information to those impacted by emergencies. 

Some of the resources ENLA provides include:

  • Non-perishable food
  • Financial assistance
  • Air purifiers
  • Free childcare
  • Wildfire recovery information

In addition to fundraising, LAFCU will also donate $20,000 to ENLA. LAFCU members can donate in these ways:

  • From our mobile app or online banking, use “Donate” in the Transfer section.
  • Paypal from our website.
  • In a branch
  • Call our Contact Center & ask us to transfer funds to ENLA.

If you are not yet a member, you can donate directly through Paypal on our website.

LAFCU was founded in 1936 by 13 Los Angeles, California City Employees to give employees a safe, low-cost, and convenient source to borrow and save money. They gathered $65 to form the “Los Angeles City Employees Federal Credit Union.” In 1987, the name changed to Los Angeles Federal Credit Union to reflect a growing field of membership, which started to include immediate family members of City employees and individuals who lived in the same household as a current member. In 2006, LAFCU expanded its field again to include residents living in the Greater Los Angeles Metropolitan Area by establishing the Los Angeles Charitable Association, Inc. (LACA).
