Lamoura Munse former Indiana Members Credit Union VP to be inducted into Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 24, 2014) — Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) is proud to announce that Lamoura Munse, former vice president of public relations at IMCU, will be inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame on October 17, 2014.  Munse will be honored at the Chairman’s Awards Banquet during the Indiana Credit Union League’s convention.

The Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame honor is the most prestigious recognition awarded to an individual for their service to the credit union movement.  Munse was selected for the Hall of Fame based on her background, qualifications and contributions to the credit union movement.  Specific criteria for being inducted into the Indiana Credit Union Hall of Fame include: serving on the League board, a League committee, as a chapter official and/or on the national level, selflessly given exceptional time, effort and talent to the betterment of the Indiana credit union movement, have served, assisted or been involved in the credit union movement for more than 20 years, understand and personify the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People,” promote the credit union idea and actively demonstrate loyalty to the entire organized credit union movement, and demonstrated organizational leadership, high professional standards, volunteer contributions to the movement and technical innovations in credit union service.

Munse, who was a League board member from 2004-2013, served as League Chairman from 2009-2010.  She retired from Indiana Members CU in late 2013, and continues to serve on the credit union’s Supervisory Committee.  She began her credit union career with Capital Plus CU.  Her involvement in the credit union business throughout her career is extensive and includes charter membership on the Indiana Credit Union Foundation board of directors where she still serves.  She was involved with many League Committees, Hoosier CUES and the Central Chapter during her career.  Her national involvement includes past service as a member of the Awards Committee of the National Credit Union Foundation and the Executive Committee of the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC).  She is currently a member of the Stabilization Trustees, and the League’s Convention Committee.

“I was very blessed during my credit union career working with many amazing people,” said Munse.  “I had the privilege to be a director of a $4 million credit union, President/CEO of a $22 million credit union and vice president of a billion-plus credit union.  What a phenomenal experience!”
