Larry D. Hudson, Sr. Vice President & Chief Lending Officer with Greater Texas Credit Union, to retire

AUSTIN, TX (March 13, 2019) — Larry D. Hudson, Sr. Vice President & Chief Lending Officer with Greater Texas Credit Union, to retire this summer, after 26 years of credit union service, and 37 years in the financial services industry.

Previous to Greater Texas, Larry was most recently Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer at SPCO Credit Union in Houston where he directed the daily operations of three internal departments including accounting, collections, and marketing/business development. He also served as the Executive Vice President and then President & Chief Executive Officer in his 11 year tenure at Primeway Federal Credit Union in Houston. Larry served Motorola Employees Credit Union – West (now Tru-West) as Regional Vice President (Austin, Texas), as well as served members of Otis Employees Credit Union, and Texins Credit Union (now Texans Credit Union) in the DFW metro area during his career.

Larry is a Graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School (Award of Excellence recipient) in 2002, and a Graduate of Credit Union Executive Society’s CEO Institute; Earned “Certified Chief Executive” (CCE) certification in 2005. He’s also a proud former student, class of ’75, Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science, Curriculum & Instruction.

Throughout his career, Larry has been a member, trustee, director and chairman of many organizations, clubs, associations and councils. His commitment to engagement, outreach and the credit union movement has been seen in his volunteer work with the city of Houston, the city of Austin, nonprofits across Texas and in his mentoring and training of the next generation of credit union professionals.

When asked to reflect back, Larry Hudson said, “It has been my pleasure to work with countless dedicated professionals throughout my career.  I owe so much to those who provided support, care, guidance, and opportunities to me over the years.  I hope, in some way, I have paid it forward.”
