LBS Financial volunteers beautify Long Beach coastline

Long Beach, CA (June 17, 2025) |

In collaboration with the City of Long Beach’s Adopt-A-Beach program, volunteers from LBS Financial Credit Union participated in a beach clean-up along the Long Beach coastline on Saturday, May 10, 2025. A total of twenty-one volunteers, including LBS Financial employees, their families, and friends, worked together to clear litter and debris from the sand, parking lot, pedestrian pathway, as well as the outdoor roller rink and sports court at Junipero Beach.

For more than 14 years, the Credit Union has proudly adopted a section of the coastline between 14th Place and 19th Place off Ocean Blvd. During the recent clean-up, the team picked up a variety of items including aluminum cans, disposable plates, plastic bottles, bottlecaps, napkins, utensils, Styrofoam, cigarette butts, cigar wrappers, fast food paper bags, alcohol bottles, candy wrappers, and a few clothing articles.

“Improving our beaches requires a collective effort from all of us,” said LBS Financial Credit Union President & CEO, Sean Hardeman, who attended the beach clean-up. “Our team felt incredibly motivated to work together.” The sentiment was shared among the volunteers, who collectively gathered more than 25 bags of litter during the beach clean-up.
