Liberty Bay Credit Union promotes two key personel

BRAINTREE, MA (April 14, 2015) – Liberty Bay Credit Union, one of the oldest and most established credit unions in New England, has promoted two employees to key leadership roles.  Joel Keller has been promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and James Carden to Vice President of Consumer Lending.

Keller has served as CFO since joining Liberty Bay in July 2013.  In his new role, Keller will retain his CFO duties while becoming more directly involved in overall day to day management of the credit union as Executive Vice President.   In addition to his work overseeing the finance, accounting, and technology departments, Keller will also assume responsibility for leading the consumer and commercial lending divisions.

Carden has served as Director of Collections since joining Liberty Bay in November 2013.  In his new role, Carden will retain oversight of the Collections Department.

Keller has over twenty years of experience in the financial services industry, including leadership roles at Boston Private Bank & Trust, Charter Private Bank, and First Federal Savings & Loan Association of Port Angeles, among others.  He holds a Master’s of Science in Finance degree from Seattle University and Bachelor of Arts in Economics degree from Whitman College.

Prior to joining Liberty Bay Credit Union, Carden spent nine years at HarborOne Bank.  His previous finance experience includes positions at CitiGroup, US Trust, and Shawmut National Corporation.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Hartford and resides in Braintree, Massachusetts.
