LifeTech Academy announces new partnership with LAFCU

LANSING, MI (July 21, 2015) — LifeTech Academy announced today that it has formed a new strategic partnership with LAFCU, a mid-Michigan based credit union. As a strategic partner, LAFCU will function as one of the approved sites for LifeTech Learners in grades 7-12 to choose from as a part of their real-world, hands-on, project-based learning experience.

“We are excited to have LAFCU join us as a strategic partner,” said Matthew D. Anderson, Partner with Engaged Education, which provides a variety of support services to LifeTech Academy. “Not only will our Learners benefit from the tremendous practical, real-world experience they’ll gain, our other partners also benefit from these experiences. LAFCU is helping LifeTech to train Michigan’s future talent.”

With LAFCU, LifeTech Learners will have the opportunity to learn about personal finance in the form of real-world scenarios while also engaging in one-on- one mentoring from LAFCU senior-level staff.

“We are looking forward to partnering with LifeTech Academy,” said Kelli Ellsworth Etchison, LAFCU vice president of community and business development. “At LAFCU, we believe that providing quality financial education is important to the long-term success of our community. In this personal finance course, LifeTech Learners will be faced with making financial decisions that may be encountered in their daily lives. Additionally, these young people will have the opportunity to be mentored by LAFCU representatives who can counsel them in financial career options.”

LifeTech Academy believes in partnering with businesses and nonprofit organizations that want to be influential in the education of youth.
