Local playgrounds and parks receive grants for new equipment

Residents of Springfield Township enjoy taking their children to slide on the sliding board and picnic in Jane Lownes Park. Soon they can add GaGa, a variant of dodgeball, of things they like to do at the park thanks to a $500 grant received from TruMark Financial® Credit Union. The construction of the GaGa pit is a special Eagle Scout project which the township is sponsoring and will be an enhancement to the playground.

The grant is part of the credit union’s Concern for Community initiative which supports local organizations with special projects as well as providing resources for their clients. In June, in addition to Jane Lownes Park, the following organizations received a $500 TruMark Financial grant to use for new playground equipment and improvements:

  • Camp Dreamcatcher, Chester County
  • Smith Memorial Playground, Philadelphia
  • Edmonds Home, Montgomery County
  • Willow Knoll Park, Bucks County

TruMark Financial is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. Other examples of ways the credit union works with the community is through its financial literacy program in which employees conduct workshops on topics such as saving, budgeting, credit, and investing at local schools and organizations and its TruCommunity program where employees receive eight hours of paid time off to allow them to volunteer at a non-profit of their choice.
