TALLAHASSEE, FL (March 2, 2023) — The League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) Board of Directors recently met to approve the 2022 lawmakers of the year. During the nomination and approval process, legislator’s contributions to, and support for, credit unions were discussed.
The Federal Advocacy Policy Committee voted to nominate Congresswoman Kathy Castor (FL-14) as the 2022 Federal Lawmaker of the Year, which was later approved by the LSCU Board of Directors. She was formally honored this week in Washington, D.C.
Congresswoman Castor serves as a Ranking Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s powerful Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee. In this role, Congresswoman Castor is able to make a tremendous impact for the constituents of Florida.
