Maine Savings experiences growth, recognizes extraordinary employees

HAMPDEN, ME (January 22, 2015) – Maine Savings recently promoted five of its employees in its Bangor, Brewer and Old Town branches, as well as hired a new teller in the Vassalboro location.

Karen Ellis, of Carmel, Maine, was promoted to branch supervisor at the credit union’s Broadway branch in Bangor, Maine. In this new role she will be responsible for all retail operations and supervision at the branch. Ellis joined Maine Savings as a teller in 2011 and most recently served as a member service representative, loan officer and teller operations supervisor at the College Avenue branch. Ellis received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine.

Ryan Johnson, of Hermon, Maine, was also promoted to branch supervisor, but at the credit union’s Brewer branch. Johnson will be responsible for all retail operations and supervision at the branch. Most recently he was a member service representative and loan officer at the Broadway location in Bangor. Johnson is a Bangor Region Leadership Institute graduate, a State of Maine Notary Public, certified in Consumer and Mortgage Lending and holds his State of Maine Producers License.

Kristen Brasslett, of Brewer, Maine, is now a teller operations supervisor in addition to her existing roles of member service representative and loan officer at the College Avenue branch in Old Town. Since beginning her career with the credit union in 2010 as a teller, she has completed the Certified Teller Specialist Course, IRA-Basics, New Accounts Training and the Consumer Lending Course.

Brett Speed, of Corinth, Maine, was promoted to member service representative and loan officer at the College Avenue branch in Old Town. Having joined the credit union earlier this year, Speed was previously a teller. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Maine.

SaraEllen Gilden, of Hampden, Maine, was also promoted to member service representative and loan officer, but at the Broadway branch in Bangor. Gilden joined Maine Savings in 2013 and was previously a teller at the Hammond Street branch in Bangor.

Maine Savings also welcomed Samantha Field, of Vassalboro, as a teller at its Vassalboro branch.
