Marine Credit Union announced the promotions of three leaders in the second half of 2022 to support the organization’s focus on improving member experience, digital services and diversity, equity & inclusion.
In this expanded new role for the credit union, Laura is responsible for investments in digital and member experience across all channels. As Marine continues to focus on improving experiences for our members so we can strengthen long-term relationships with them, this role will help enable digital transformation and the culture needed to deliver it.
Laura has spent the past decade at Marine driving transformation across the business and culture. She created and has led the credit union’s project management office, which has helped facilitate the organization’s strategic initiatives. She has served on the Board of Directors for the La Crosse / Rochester Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is pursuing her MBA. Jen Schlegel has been promoted to Manager of Project Management Office
In this role, Jen will be responsible for leading the project management office and helping to bring value to members and employees in alignment with Marine’s strategic objectives.
Jen joined the organization in 2019 as Training & Development Manager and transitioned to Outbound Consumer Lending Manager in April 2021. Her team helped more than 900 members and put nearly $8 million in new money back into the community under her leadership in 2022. Jen is active in giving back in the La Crosse community and pursuing a Master’s in Servant Leadership (MASL) from Viterbo University. Outside of work she enjoys running and loves to spend time with her husband, Chris; children Olivia and Lucas; and dog Nala.
Caitlin Wilson has been promoted to Vice President of Communications & Inclusion
In addition to her continued responsibility for corporate communications, Caitlin will help ensure that “everyone is welcome” at Marine Credit Union and lead MCU’s drive for a diverse, equitable and inclusive credit union, where all feel included and know they belong to do their life’s best work.
Caitlin’s work to help showcase individual employee purpose through Heart of MCU stories has strengthened culture and connectivity. She joined the organization in 2014 to establish the credit union’s corporate communications function. Caitlin has served on boards and committees with the YMCA, United Way, Rotary and Healthy Living Center. She is a Resiliency & Trauma-Informed Care (RTIC) Champion, holds a Master’s in Servant Leadership (MASL) from Viterbo University and is authoring a book on servant leadership (“Cultivating a Servant Heart: Interviews with Servant Leaders,” Fulcrum Publishing, Fall 2023).
