Marion High School student art showcased at Veridian’s Cedar Rapids ArtShare Premiere

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (February 25, 2014) —  Select art students from Marion High School celebrated the public display of their work at Veridian Credit Union’s annual ArtShare Premiere on Monday. ArtShare features an annual collection of art created by local high school students. The pieces are selected by the schools’ art department leaders and are professionally framed or prepared for display in the branch, where they remain throughout the year.

The 2014 Cedar Rapids ArtShare collection is made up of 33 original works, which range from digital photography and graphic design to paintings and pottery. The collection was unveiled at Monday’s ArtShare Premiere to more than 70 attendees, including artists’ family and friends, credit union leaders, school administrators and teachers.

“ArtShare is a celebration of the young talent that exists in our communities,” said Justin Mager, Veridian’s East Central Regional Manager. “We’re grateful for the opportunity to decorate our walls with the students’ work and for the chance to share these pieces of art with everyone who visits this branch.”

Veridian partners with schools in Ankeny, Cedar Rapids and Waterloo to coordinate ArtShare displays. The Ankeny ArtShare Premiere unveiled a collection in January, and the Waterloo Premiere is scheduled for March 3.
