Mazuma Credit Union announces opening of Overland Park headquarters
KANSAS CITY, MO (February 24, 2015) — Mazuma Credit Union is thrilled to announce that its new headquarters is open to the public. Located at 135th and Metcalf in the Deer Creek Shoppes in Overland Park, the headquarters is the new home for 150 employees and a retail banking branch with a full-service lobby, ATM and three drive-up lanes. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place Friday, February 27th at 9:00 with a Winter Beach Bash Grand Opening Celebration taking place on February 28th.
Just because the building houses a credit union doesn’t mean it’s boring. The building was designed to reflect Mazuma’s tireless commitment to the community and celebrate the company’s culture.
“We’ve worked tirelessly to reflect our community focus in our new building through the creation of a high tech and open community room,” said Brandon Michaels, President and CEO at Mazuma. “The community room is a spacious area with seating for up to 180 and includes the latest in high tech audio/visual equipment. The room is free to reserve for community groups looking for space to host an event or meeting.”
The culture at Mazuma is vibrant, fun-loving, and integral to the company’s success. Team members, called Mazumans, throw impromptu lobby dance breaks and love a good joke. Creativity is strongly encouraged. Leadership and development classes are offered to everyone on the team – and they’re actually fun to take. The Mazuman culture rests on the pillars of teamwork, learning, creativity, and fun, and Mazumans are thrilled to have a new home specifically designed to reflect those core values.
- Teamwork: Teammates aren’t just the people who sit nearby. They’re all over the building. The open floor plan at HQ allows for quick and easy communication.
- Learning: The training room at HQ is an educator’s dream with top notch audio-visual equipment that features a huge, wall-mounted touch screen.
- Creativity: Mazumans keep the creative juices flowing by working in one of several themed innovation spaces.
- Fun: There will still be lobby dance breaks, but where will be much more room for them in the atrium. Plus the game room is always available for a quick ping pong grudge match.
