McGraw-Hill FCU & HCI announces President Shawn Gilfedder as opening Keynote Speaker at 2014 workforce planning & analytics conference

(December 17, 2013) —  The Human Capital Institute (HCI), the global institution for strategic talent management, announced today that Shawn Gilfedder, President and CEO of McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union, a top-100 ranked credit union, will deliver the opening keynote address at the organization’s 2014 Workforce Planning & Analytics Conference on February 10-12, 2014 in Alexandria, VA.

The role of human resources professionals has evolved over the past several decades and operates as a more critical position within an organization’s business strategy. Senior talent leaders may feel underrepresented by a lack of C-level sponsorship for HR-related programs. Shawn Gilfedder, whose employee-based credit union forms constructive and results-oriented relationships with HR and benefits directors at numerous companies, advocates implementing HR programs  He is eager to see more inclusiveness at the executive level.

During his address, entitled “The Secret to Executive Support in the Modern Organization,” Gilfedder will discuss strategies for HR leaders to gain a permanent spot on the corporate agenda and offer rationale for why this position is key to the success and profitability of businesses and organizations today.

In addition to his role with MHFCU, Gilfedder is dedicated to ensuring credit unions remain committed to their cooperative mission, having formerly served as Chairman of the New Jersey Credit Union League, which represents 1.2 million consumers.  He is a nationally-recognized leader in promoting initiatives that drive profitability through financial wellness in the workplace. Under Shawn’s vision and leadership, the credit union works with HR and benefits leaders to implement fully-integrated financial education programs to lower financial stress, reduce absenteeism, increase productivity and cultivate a loyal workforce.  He often pens articles on the topic for the HR industry including, most recently, for Workforce Management magazine extolling the benefits of employer-provided financial wellness programs.
