McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union Raises More than $13,000 for Youth Financial Education Programs at Inaugural Ride

East Windsor, NJ, October 9, 2012McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union (McGraw-Hill FCU) and the VOICE Foundation raised more than $13,000 at its inaugural “Ride For Financial Wellness”, on October 6. Proceeds from event will fund financial education and wellness programs impacting thousands of consumers – many of whom come from struggling, underfunded communities. With this newest initiative, the VOICE Foundation has surpassed $80,000 in donations over the past year.

“Physical and financial wellness hold equal importance in helping consumers and their communities prosper,” said Shawn Gilfedder, President and CEO of McGraw-Hill FCU. “At The Ride for Financial Wellness, our riders and sponsors symbolize how change in the community starts with the collective effort of passionate individuals.”

Riders completed 20, 40 and 62-mile routes through the beautiful countryside outside of Princeton N.J. The event included a post-ride celebration, which recognized individuals and organizations that build stronger communities through financial literacy and education. The celebration, hosted by YES Network broadcaster Chris Shearn, also recognized the rider’s passionate fundraising efforts and gave guests the opportunity to learn more about the benefits of achieving financial literacy and education.
