MDC Announces Board of Directors Election Results

Members Development Company (MDC) has announced the results of its board of directors election and welcomed the four winning candidates to their new positions on January 20. MDC’s board vice chair, Kevin Johnson, has been elected to the position of chairman of the board. James Nastars, formerly serving as the board’s secretary/treasurer, was elected to the position of vice chair. Board member April Clobes will now serve as secretary/treasurer, while Brenda Worrell will be newly joining the board as a director.

Kevin Johnson serves as the president and CEO of Suncoast Credit Union, Florida’s largest credit union at $15.7 billion in assets. An advocate for the credit union difference, Johnson also serves on the boards of the League of Southeastern Credit Union, the Southeastern Credit Union Foundation, CUNA Mutual Group, among several other organizations. Johnson is a CUNA-certified credit union executive who earned his bachelor’s degree in business management at the University of Tampa.

James Nastars is the president and CEO of Meritrust Credit Union and brings more than 30 years of credit union and banking experience with him to the board. He serves on the boards of Meritrust Technology Strategies, LLC, Custom Financial Resource, LLC, CU NextGen, Kansas Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Support for Catholic Schools, LLC, and the Greater Wichita Partnership’s leadership council. Nastars holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin.

April Clobes serves as the president and CEO of Michigan State University Federal Credit Union, having grown with the credit union for 27 years. She serves on the boards of several organizations, including Lansing Economic Area Partnership, MSU College of Music National Leadership Council, Michigan Humanities Council, and Filene Research Group. Clobes has also earned several distinctions, including Top Woman to Watch by the Credit Union Times, the ATHENA award from Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, and multiple leadership awards by the Detroit Free Press. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and a Master of Arts from Michigan State University, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Western Michigan University.

Brenda Worrell is the president and CEO at Idaho Central Credit Union, one of the fastestgrowing credit unions in the country, with more than $9 billion in assets. Worrell serves on the board of the Curql Collective, the Northwest Credit Union Regulatory Affairs Committee, the Idaho Credit Union Governmental Affairs Committee, and Southeast Idaho Parade of Homes Committee. A certified public accountant, Worrell holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from Idaho State University. She is also an Excellence in Finance award winner and a CUES-Certified Credit Union Executive.
