MECU of Baltimore Awards 116 grants to Baltimore neighborhoods

BALTIMORE, MD (May 4, 2015) — On Saturday March 25, 2015, MECU of Baltimore’s Chairman of the Board, Herman Williams Jr., delivered checks to representatives of 116 neighborhood and community organizations to help them organize events this summer and fall. This is the fourth year that MECU has awarded Neighborhood Event Grants through a partnership with the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts.

Many of the grants were for block parties, neighborhood beautification and back to school events. There were also grants for health fairs and HIV screening and prevention events. All the grants are for events that strengthen Baltimore’s neighborhoods and help people in the communities come together.
