Member of Heritage Federal Credit Union Earns Top Honors in “The Great Credit Union Contest”

Don Bowen, a member of Heritage Federal Credit Union, was announced as a runner up of “The Great Credit Union Contest,” powered by the credit union locator website CULookup.com. Bowen submitted a written essay to the month-long contest that launched in early June. The contest asked credit union members to submit short written or video essays explaining why their credit union is great.
Bowen’s winning entry stated, “They really care about each and every member…. Their employees work many, many volunteer hours in our community. It is really people helping people philosophy at work each day.”
“This contest was a great way to exemplify the unique benefits that credit unions offer with the personal stories of their members,” said Ruth Gaon, CCE, President and CEO of Heritage Federal Credit Union. “We are especially proud that one of our members took the time to share a story about extraordinary service they’ve received from our credit union and won a fantastic prize!”

The contest received over 1,000 entries from members of nearly 100 credit unions across the country. There were 51 prizes awarded in all, including three $500 Discover® gift cards and five $250 Discover® gift cards.
