Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union ice bucket challenge video raises over $800 for ALSA

KINGSTON, NY (August 20, 2014) — Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) recently participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge raising over $800 for the ALS Association. In addition to corporate and employee donations of over $300, MHV pledged to donate an additional $1 per share of their Ice Bucket Challenge video, up to $500.

The video posted on facebook.com/mhvfcu on August 19 quickly garnered attention achieving over 1,500 views and 640 shares in under 24 hours. MHV’s unique take on the Ice Bucket Challenge provided a quick lesson on ALS, as each employee recited a brief fact about the disease before being dumped with ice water.

Robert Michaud, MHV SVP/Chief Marketing Officer states, “in designing our approach to the Ice Bucket Challenge, we wanted to make sure ALS was front and center. This cause is very personal to us as our employees have family and friends that have been affected by this terrible disease. The praise we have received on this video by the community has been outstanding!”

MHV was originally challenged to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by Bridgeway Federal Credit Union. MHV held the event at their main branch on 1099 Morton Boulevard in Kingston. To view MHV’s ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video visit www.facebook.com/mhvfcu.
